Detailed Technical Description
Structure: Gland packings of brand AP-31 are elastic asbestos braided cords with a round or square cross-section profile and braided cores (the braiding of the latter can be single-layer or multi-layer).
Manufacturing & Packaging: Produced in bobbins/coils weighing from 15 to 20 kg. These rubber-technical products are manufactured according to GOST 5152-84. According to this standard, they are made of chrysotile asbestos threads impregnated with a special antifriction composition consisting of petroleum extract with a graphite filler.
Application: Packing AP-31 seals stationary and moving joints, as well as shut-off and control valves of pipelines designed for transporting neutral or aggressive gaseous/liquid media and petroleum products. It is widely used in pumps, valves, and other units/mechanisms, neutralizing the negative effects of sliding friction.
Benefit: The use of AP-31 packing significantly increases the service life (shelf life) of the equipment.
